Abstract

Although the Department of Defense has not yet awarded contracts for embedded systems implemented in Ada, it has begun to award contracts that specify Ada as the design language. Ford Aerospace and Communications Corporation is already at work on one such contract, designing a system in Ada which it will implement in Jovial (J73) and assembly language. When work began, the Ada Technology Project at Ford Aerospace was asked to prepare an Ada style guide for system designers. The purpose of the guide was to promote the creation of system designs in Ada that would have straightforward Jovial implementations. This article presents the style guide in revised form.
