This article presents the Structural Correspondence Specification Environment (SCSE) being implemented at GETA.The SCSE is designed to help linguists to develop, consult and verify the SCS Grammars (SCSG) which specify linguistic models. It integrates the techniques of data bases, structured editors and language interpreters. We argue that formalisms and tools of specification are as important as the specification itself.
