Abstract

This paper discusses the development of the SMARTBOLTTM sensor interface for wired and wireless eases to allow effective management of sensors. Firstly, the development of the wired interface will be discussed. This development involves the hardware and software development, as well as the special issues in setting up the communication between hardware and software. Secondly, the proposed method in upgrading the wired interface to a wireless interface will be discussed, and the architecture design of the wireless SMARTBOLTTM sensor interface will be revealed. Finally, the clustering algorithm to network the sensors in a large scale is discussed.
