Recently, there has been a considerable interest inpolicy-based, goal-oriented service management andautonomic computing. Much work is still required toinvestigate designs and policy models and associatemeta-reasoning systems for policy-based autonomicsystems. In this paper we outline a proposed autonomicmiddleware control service used to orchestrate self-healingof distributed applications. Policies are used toadjust the systems autonomy and define self-healingstrategies to stabilize/correct a given system in the eventof failures.
