Abstract

The management of the underlying network infrastructure,which supports the grid communications, isnot proceeded through the same management systemsused for the grid management. In this scenario, anintegrated management of grids and networks could turnthe maintenance processes easier. This paper proposesan hierarchical policy-based architecture, whose goal isto allow such desired integration, where grid policies aretranslated to network policies following mapping rulesdefined by network administrators. It also describes aprototype implemented based on the architecture.
