Abstract

In this paper, we propose guidelines for theconstruction of virtual environments for gene expressionanalysis using an immersive projection display. Theguidelines include two metaphors: a lab bench metaphorand a road metaphor. We implemented the prototypesbased on the proposal. On the basis of evaluations of theprototypes, we confi rm that our guidelines provideeffective aids for users to understand the analytical process.
