Abstract

The notion of Conceptual Process Model, and its pivotal role between analysis of an operational business process and its redesign are discussed. The CPM, constituting the indispensable actions to be executed in a business process, provides guidance to engineers in creating redesign options as the model can be elaborated in various ways depending on architectural preferences and business contingencies. It also sets a checkpoint to verify compliance with the overall business information architecture. This experience report discusses how the concept of CPM is adopted as a standard deliverable in the process redesign methodology at our corporation.
