Abstract

In the Motive project [1], the Industrial IT Laboratory (INIT) of Helsinki University of Technology (HUT) is studying the use of digital TV as a learning environment for University courses. Funded by the European Social Fund, the project has used itsý last years to focus on user-interaction in the digital TV and flexible content production. Practical experience of the learning environment in use has been with the course Local Demands for Global Enterprising where HUT students have had a chance to study a module in an experimental digital TV environment in autumn 2002. That experiment continued with a new version of the course, which started on January 12th, 2004 in digital TV cable networks.
