What does it mean for a technology to be intimately connected to our lives and our bodies? It is easy to think of devices that we carry with us everywhere, and which are our constant companions, as almost "intimates."But emerging practices worldwide suggest a more radical interpretation of intimacy might be needed--technology moving beyond traditional concerns with efficiency and into arenas such as family and interpersonal relationships, religion and devotional practices, sexual behaviors, medical well-being, and more.
