Abstract

The recently proposed Self-organizing Redundancy-Cellular Architecture (SoRCA) can significantly simplify wireless sensor network (WSN) topologies. We present three additional components for SoRCA: the Distributed Resources Allocation Algorithm (DRAA), the Optimal Path Algorithm (OPA) and the Distributed Probabilistic Routing Algorithm (DPRA). The number of channels required for SoRCA is calculated and channels can be assigned by applying DRAA. Various WSN properties such as network lifetime are analytically derived assuming channelized MAC protocols and traffic models predicted based on OPA and DPRA.
