Abstract

As the state of the art in simulation has advanced, more effective ways of building simulation models and displaying their results have been developed. Computer graphics has played a key role in these developments. Although problems still exist, the introduction of computer graphics as an aid in the simulation modeling and analysis process has greatly encouraged the effective use of simulation by engineers, analysts and managers alike, enhancing their productivity and their effectiveness. This paper discusses the advantages of using computer graphics within the simulation modeling process and some problems which may be encountered with its use. Generally applicable graphics software tools will be presented as well as applications of the use of graphics in specific models.
