Abstract

The existing state of the art within "interpretive" sociology is introduced as an initial point of reference. The special issue papers are then discussed in an order that proposes to exemplify the interdisciplinary nature of the arguments at hand. Thus, we attempt an experiential introduction to the prospect of developing both an individual and a disciplinary capacity for "interpretive" mobility. The paper concludes with an invitation to continue this development in the light of an explicit caveat emptor.
