Abstract

A global optimization algorithm is shown to solve the fixed-order control design problem for linear systems. The algorithm, which belongs to the information methods family, is described in some detail, and the features that make it interesting for control applications are highlighted. Numerical experiments are performed on test problems to show its effectiveness.
