Abstract

Some might declare that knowledge of the "arcane art" of programming in assembler language is no longer relevant to computer science education. It is probably true that many, if not most, graduates of computer science degree programs spend much of their time contriving, more or less successfully, programs written in higher level languages such as C, C++, and so forth.
