Abstract

This paper represents a research into the new Hyper-Threading Technology (TH) being introduced with the Intel Xeon family processors. Many applications expect maximum efficient exploitation of the hardware capability in the computer configuration. That depends on the ability of the operating system to manage concurrent executions of multiple instruction streams. The object of this paper is to provide results, analyses and conclusions from a research into the mechanism for managing threads of execution and common system performance.
