Abstract

The recent publication of two books on blackboard architectures, Blackboard Architectures and Applications (eds. V. Jagannathan, R. Dodhiawala, and L.S. Baum, Academic Press, Inc., 1989) and Blackboard Systems (eds. R. Engelmore and T. Morgan, Addison Wesley, 1988) is an indication of the maturity and current popularity of this particular area of AI research. Blackboard Architectures and Applications, the book under review here, is the most current of these two works.
