Abstract

Learning is being increasingly recognized as a central characteristic of intelligence, and hence of artificial intelligence. Similarly adaptivity, dynamism and integration are becoming catch-cries in the computer industry generally, and learning is in various senses involved here too, whether or not the label AI is attached.
