Abstract

"Explanatory" is an apt term to describe this book by Alison Cawsey. Her style is perfectly suited to the needs of both experts and novices in the dialogue generation area. Step by step, she leads us through the foremost trends and theories dealing with the development of computer systems for the explanation of pieces of knowledge, examining their advantages, disadvantages and possible applications, while introducing us to the approaches she has taken in the construction of her own system for the generation of explanatory discourse.
