Abstract

This paper presents and analyzes the performance sensitivity of SPEC CPU2000 benchmark over cpu clock speed. By measuring the performance of SPEC CPU2000 benchmark on a system with Intel Pentium4 processors running at various frequencies, we investigate how the performance of SPEC CPU2000 reacts against the changes in operating frequency. We saw overall SPEC CPU2000 performance increase monotonically and linearly as the core frequency increases. However, several individual components of SPEC CPU2000 program show abnormal scaling behavior.
