Abstract

Deductive Databases formalize and extend relational databases. A deductive database (DDB) consists of a set of facts, a set of rules, and a set of integrity constraints. From the set of rules and the facts it is possible to derive new facts not contained in the original set of facts. The integrity (ICs) describe properties that entries in the database should satisfy.
