Abstract

Many P2P frameworks for e-Learning and knowledge management are being proposed. Most of these frameworks provide generic interfaces to support multiple information providers. This results in an implementation overhead. In this paper we present a lightweight P2P e-Learning architecture which uses a fast native XML database to allow basic query, retrieval and download services using SCORM meta-data. Like EDUTELLA, this environment is built using the JXTA framework. We also provide experimental data for this environment with respect to scalability in terms of the number of learning objects per peer, the number of concurrent queries, the number of peers and the size of the response set.
