Abstract

Learning Objects offer flexibility and adaptability for users to request personalised information for learning. However, various applications of learning objects have adapted the standards in different ways to serve specific purposes. As a result, it is difficult to reuse and share distributed and heterogeneous learning resources across multiple content providers. Interoperability becomes an important issue to be addressed in terms of learning resource management. This paper investigates the interoperability issues in learning resource management at three levels and presents feasible solutions, with a special emphasis on semantic interoperability.
