Abstract

The paper describes a method developed for interactive datavisualization and exploration with applications in the automotiveindustry. The input data set contains a large number of functiongraphs. Each of the graphs is characterized by a set of basicattributes. The technique that is used for visualization includestwo linked views: a map view (or attribute space view), whereall function graphs are represented as a point or an icon on themap, and a linked function graph view. The map view providesadditional visualization possibilities and allows user interaction.Additional features like brushing in both views, graph management, and related issues like interpolation of the graphs are described.
