Abstract

An overlay facility is described which enables large LISP programs such as are frequently encountered in symbolic algebraic manipulation to be used in a memory environment considerably smaller than required for the entire program. This facility has been implemented in the University of Texas LISP for CDC 6000 series machines, and has been so far applied to Joel Moses' integration package with good results.
