Abstract

A single-semester course in compiler design presents difficulties to an instructor who wants to assign a project in which object-oriented techniques are employed. This paper describes an approach using tools developed by the author to generate a parser that encourages an object-oriented approach, and clearly relates student-written code with automatically generated code, with the intent of increasing student understanding.
