Abstract

Object-oriented programming relies upon three techniques: encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism. In a number of current textbooks, however, polymorphism may be slighted compared to what is desirable. Consideration of the quality of textbook polymorphism coverage, based upon issues addressed herein, should help guide book selections when tempered by curriculum goals.
