Abstract

This report is an account of the hand translation of a program from the SCRATCHPAD/360 language into the REDUCE language [1]. The program is a solution of SIGSAM Problem #11 [2], as solved in SCRATCHPAD by R. D. Jenks in [3]. This report can be regarded as a tutorial in some of the aspects of REDUCE, or as a case study of what is involved in the translation of a program between languages which have similar but not identical constructs.
