Abstract

The main objective of this work is to propose and evaluate an efficient power and code based Admission Control algorithm that is capable of fulfilling the QoS demands of the streaming users mapped on the HS-DSCH channel. A mixed traffic scenario, where the streaming users have to co-exist with speech users mapped on Dedicated Channels (DCH) and web browsing users mapped on HS-DSCH, is considered. By means of system level dynamic simulations, it was concluded that our proposed algorithm is able to improve the satisfaction of streaming users with minor impacts on the QoS of speech and web browsing users.
