Abstract

In this paper, we study a grid gateway for the legacy business systems integration. As an emerging technology in enabling virtualization of computing resources such as CPU, severs, networks, applications and systems, so far Grid technologies have been mainly deployed to enable computational CPU sharing. However, in the business computing, current Grid technologies are not mature enough for legacy business systems integration. Recently, a web service is introduced into the Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA) (Foster et. al., 2002) that makes one step further toward solving the distributed system integration problems in the heterogeneous environment. In this paper, we investigate a new integration framework for integrating the legacy business systems into Grid environment, while ensuring the performance levels of the integrated business systems. In this framework, we will enhance the Grid integration capabilities by providing single sign on capabilities for all integrated business systems, context management, and dynamic job scheduling policies and algorithms. An analytical framework is also proposed to analyze the local system's capacity.
