Abstract

In this paper, we describe an ongoing work focusing on a level of adaptation for multimedia services instantiated by a mobile user. The focus is based on video streaming over Internet, for which neither quality of service nor guarantee of resources in terms of bandwidth, transfer delay, delay variation and packet losses are offered. According to the movement of the user and the constraints of its new location, we propose a way of achieving better video service quality based on an adaptive layer. The proposed approach lies on the same principle as the TCP-friendly rate control.
