There is a need to determine the modulation type of an incoming signal. This paper proposes the use of the wavelet transform (WT) for modulation identification of digital signals without requiring any priori knowledge. The identifier consists of inter-class and intra-class identification. Different features have been used for different signals to increase the number of identification types and improve the processing rate. The performance of correct identification is increased too.
