Abstract

In this paper, we present an approach to provide owners of mobile devices with ubiquitous services. This approach relies on a context-aware deployment of adaptive services on mobile devices and on the collaboration of these devices. These services are designed to provide all (or a part) of the functionalities of the services offered by infrastructure networks equipped with a wireless extension. This approach aims at cutting off from the connection constraints binding mobile devices to the access points of infrastructure networks, and thus to make it possible to use services autonomously. In this paper, we also present the platform we have implemented in order to validate our approach and some examples of adaptive services that have been deployed on it.
