Abstract

To adapt to vertiginous customer demands, fierce competition and innovation of production, modern enterprises require a flexible and open information integration platform. Based on a thorough study on Common/Unique issues in PLM/CAD integration, this paper presents a flexible and open PLM/CAD integration architecture. This architecture constructs distributed integration applications using Processor components, which overcomes shortcomings of traditional integration patterns. Then, key technologies related to realize PLM/CAD flexible integration are discussed in detail, such as Processor technology and two integration mechanisms, and finally, a case of PLM/CAD flexible integration is introduced. It improves flexibility, reusability and extensibility of integration systems and achieves seamless integrations between PLM and CAD systems more efficiently.
