Abstract

Distributed Sensor Networks are becoming increasingly popular, as they can be used in a variety of applications. However, limitations arising from the sensor nodes structure, such as limitations in energy, memory and computing power require new networking techniques to be introduced. DSNs are in general more vulnerable to security threats than other wired or wireless networks. Several key establishment schemes for multiphase deployment have been presented, however such schemes are unable to provide adequate security against attacks, such as fake generation attacks. In this paper, the performance analysis of the hybrid key establishment protocol proposed by Kotzanikolaou et al. [8] for wireless sensor networks is analyzed.
