In the history of computing, there has been nothing comparable to the World Wide Web. No one predicted the Web or its unprecedented growth, which continues almost unabated today. The purpose of this workshop is to gain some perspective on the rapidly changing landscape of the Web by driving up the level of abstraction in considering significant Web phenomena. We seek to create conceptual leverage to augment our understanding of what the Web is, and what it will become in the future.
