Abstract

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) file trading is a popular medium for copyright infringement. There exists a misconception in legal and executive circles that this form of copyright infringement is undetectable and untraceable. This paper demonstrates how we can detect the majority of copyrighted material for existing P2P networks (FastTrack and Gnutella) using a scalable algorithm.
