Radio Frequency Identification is becoming ever more prevalent and ubiquitous in today's world of "smart labels". This paper proposes the use of an RFID tagging system coupled with a web-based database to facilitate the centralization of patient records within the hospital environment. This paper will briefly introduce the technologies employed; before a new approach is proposed which merges RFID technologies with a web-based database system. The system will provide for standardized and centralized hospital records, with a strong emphasis on data security.
