Abstract

This paper provides an innovative example for understanding systems development method (SDM) enactment by conceptualizing the IT worker as a social actor and method user. The paper shows how IT workers can be seen as acting in constrained ways, rather than as simple "users" of the SDM; and secondly shows the potential contribution of social actor theory.
