A blind cascade modular structure interference cancellation RAKE receiver is proposed to suppress multiple access interference for code division multiple access (CDMA) communications system in the multipath fading environment. In the receiver, blind constrained cascade modular structure detector is used in each arm of the RAKE receiver to extract part of the desired signal. In each module of the cascade modular structure detector, a vector filter is introduced for interference cancellation and the weight vector is determined based on maximum magnitude cross correlation criteria which can capture most of the interference presented in the output of preceding module. The output of all arms is coherent combined to enhance the desired signal for the final detection. The proposed receiver has simple structure and is robust for the multipath fading environment compared with other blind receivers. Performance of the receiver is characterized via computer simulation.
