This paper describes a relational algebra database management system written by two graduate students at West Virginia University. The system is designed to be used in an undergraduate database class to demonstrate queries posed in the relational algebra and to introduce the notions of integral constraints, referential integrity and functional dependencies. The system runs in either an interactive mode or interfaces with either Pascal or PL/1.
