Abstract

There are many hybrid systems in water industry field. The hybrid systems contain two distinct types of components: continuous dynamical subsystems and discrete dynamical subsystems, which interact with each other. Two kinds of logic methods, mixed logical dynamic (MLD) systems and interval temporal logic (ITL), can be applied to represent hybrid systems in industrial process. In this paper, MLD and ITL were introduced to the modeling of hybrid systems respectively. And the application of these two methods to water industry systems is presented as an example. The results show that MLD and ITL have advantages in modeling hybrid systems of wastewater treatment.
