Abstract

This paper presents a Next Generation Network solution for PGMU (General Plan of Globalization Goals) an ANATEL (Brazilian National Telecommunication Agency) requirement, called RLU (Remote Line Unit). This solution attends over 16 Brazilian states with low demography density. A wired solution isn't applicable in the areas (small villages) that RLU was installed, which are very distant from the urban area. RLU is a wireless Access Gateway, that uses satellite to provide communication between subscriber and TDM switch.
