Abstract

Real-time systems have special performance requirements that are often impossible to satisfy utilizing only general purpose Ada compilation and run-time environments. It is proposed that a secondary Performance Standard be produced which explains and documents the programming paradigms used by real-time practitioners, and the language structures amenable to effective optimization. It is argued that a Catalogue of authorized scheduling models should also be part of this secondary standard.
