Abstract

We review the need to incorporate elements into the computer-science/information-technology curriculum that address the development of "soft" skills (e.g. communication and leadership) and promote an understanding of technology's role in business. We recommend that this infusion take place on many levels - from occasional assignments in courses which otherwise have a different focus, to courses in which it is a prominent theme, to curricular tracks in which it is a major component. The multi-tiered approach makes these elements a significant part of the curriculum and allows all faculty members to find a level of comfort in incorporating them.
