Abstract

Grid computing uses geographically distributed computers collectively to achieve higher performance computing and resource sharing. MIT Technology Review lists grid computing as one of en Emerging Technologies That Will Change the World The next generation of scientists and engineers need to prepare for a technological workplace that includes grid computing.The purpose of this tutorial is to introduce the participants to hands-on grid computing exercises [1, 2, 3, 4] using the Globus Toolkit 4.
