This paper presents and compares two algorithms for differentiated services, aiming at providing Quality of Service (QoS) to Web servers: the Adaptive Resources Reservation (RSVAdap) and the Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ). The RSVAdap consists in partitioning the resources of the system in an adaptive way, and the WFQ is based on the Weighted Fair Queuing algorithm mechanism, used for the network layer. The algorithms were built into a Web-server model with service differentiation and simulated, considering different parameters and configurations for the system. The results indicate the situations in which the algorithms can offer differentiated services and those in which their particularities are emphasized, explaining the applicability of the algorithms in varied workload situations.Neste artigo, são propostos e comparados dois algoritmos de diferenciação de serviços para o fornecimento de qualidade de serviço (QoS) em servidores Web: o Reserva Adaptativa de Recursos (RSVAdap) e o Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ). O RSVAdap consiste na reserva adaptativa de recursos do servidor e o WFQ baseia-se no funcionamento do algoritmo Weighted Fair Queuing, existente para a camada de rede. Os algoritmos foram inseridos em um modelo de servidor Web com diferenciação de serviços e simulados considerando-se diferentes parâmetros e configurações para o sistema. Os resultados mostram as situações em que os algoritmos conseguem prover a diferenciação de serviços e aquelas em que as suas particularidades são destacadas, elucidando a aplicabilidade dos algoritmos nas mais variadas situações de carga de trabalho.
