A key requirement of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library [1] is that services provided to customers are described in a service catalogue. Automating a service catalogue has many operational benefits, but can be complex and difficult to maintain. This paper looks at some of the issues and examines how the emerging technologies of the Semantic Web and Semantic Web Services can be deployed to address them.
