Abstract

This workshop is designed as a first step in training interviewers for the Women Computing Educators Oral History Project. This workshop will provide background, techniques, guidelines, equipment selection criteria, and demonstrations of conducting interviews. Those completing the workshop will understand the project's goals and be positioned to undertake further training to become project contributors as interviewers and consultants. The goal of the project is to create a significant collection of narratives of women computing educators, serve as a mechanism for preserving the history of the female pioneers in computing education and provide role models to attract young women to computing.
