Abstract

The popularity of reality-TV shows in the U. S. is difficult to deny. This paper describes how the "reality-hook" attached to computer gaming (another U. S. population interest) was used as a launch platform for undergraduates using a focus-on-knowledge methodology to do real artificial intelligence work. The paper explains the three components of the focus-on-knowledge methodology and presents the resource used to develop each component. The adopted methodology supports a U. S. Army funded research project that is developing a prototype Intelligent Tutoring System for convoy training.
