Abstract

We present CalRadio, a exible 802.11b wireless platform developed at UCSD for research and evaluation of 802.11 MAC protocols, as well as the methods we used to isolate desired field test data from undesirable factors such as interference, and possible metrics we can use to evaluate network performance. CalRadio's purpose is to be a low-cost exible wireless research platform that can be reconfigured easily and quickly depending on the needs of the researcher.
